Creatively Crafty Link Party #216

Last Updated on March 26, 2020 by lydiaf1963

Debbie’s Buzz has a fun tutorial for painting on wine glasses and champagne flutes. You’ll want to give it a look.

The glasses were painted to add to her themed tablescapes and parties. Don’t miss her posts on those while you’re visiting.

Rick and are are finishing our second week of Corona Virus Lockdown in Spain. I think painting on glass would be a great project to do. Unfortunately, while I have the paints, I can’t go out and buy the glasses because that type of store is closed at the moment. Luckily I have plenty of yarn and fabric to play with.

Our lockdown hasn’t been too bad. We’re retired and used to filling our days PLUS we don’t have any children to entertain. The most difficult part for us is that we’re not allowed to do things like go for a walk. We’re only allowed to leave the house to go to the grocery, the pharmacy, the doctor, or to walk the dog.

I understand from the news that there are widespread shortages in the US. We had panic runs on toilet paper the weekend before the lockdown started but since then everything is well stocked and we’ve had no trouble buying food and commonly used household items.

What we have encountered a few times are people following social distancing rules to line up outside a grocery store waiting to get in.

In the meantime, I have several new Works In Progress going on and I’ve been working on a big packet of worksheets my instructor wisely prepared for my Spanish class, which is cancelled for now.

Please everyone stay safe.

Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.

-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.

-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.

-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog. Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress. Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?

  1. Lydia, I’m relieved you and your husband are healthy living in Spain. We traveled there two years ago and absolutely loved it! Thank you for the shoutout on my painted glasses. It’s too bad you don’t have an Amazon, Walmart or Macys who can ship inexpensive Libbey glassware. Will keep you in my thoughts.

  2. Also on our second week of lockdown and am very grateful that my kids are no longer little. It must be so hard! Thanks for hosting.

  3. Thank you Lydia! I love to paint glassware, look in your cupboards, maybe you can paint something you already have!

  4. I am glad things aren’t too tough for you! I expect the United States will regain her footing and our shops will once again be full after the initial panic has passed. We, too, are retired and introverts to boot, so it is not too rough on us.

    Stay safe!
