Put an End to Chub Rub

I am a big fan of lightweight Summer fashions. When it’s warm I’m more likely to be in a skirt or dress than in slacks. Unfortunately for many of us, baring our arms and legs for Summer may lead to chafing, also known as chub rub. If this has happened to you, read on for a few simple solutions.

Chub rub is not exclusive to overweight people but it is common in active people. Just the act of walking causes the fleshy parts of the arms and thighs to rub and when those parts aren’t protected by fabric the skin can become irritated, sometimes painfully.
One solution is to use a lubricating product like Body Glide. Apply it to the areas that chafe and enjoy several hours of protection. This particular brand contains non allergenic ingredients and no fragrance and can be reapplied as needed.
Personally I didn’t find it to be very effective for every day thigh rub but I have found similar anti-friction creams that are great for protecting the feet when hiking or running.
An attractive and feminine solution for dresses and skirts is to wear thigh bands. These have are wide enough to cover the vulnerable area and have a stretchy spandex and nylon lace to keep them in place. If you like to wear thigh high stockings you already have a good idea if these will work for you. Sometimes the action of the legs will cause the bands to move.
In which case you’ll want to check out the light weight panties with legs that are available. You may see them listed as slip shorts. These are also made of nylon and spandex and are obviously underwear as opposed to workout gear. They come in a variety of pretty colors and lengths, depending on the brand.
I bought my first pair of this type of panty in Spain, where they’re called bragas con piernas. I ended up going into a lingerie store and told the clerk when I walk my legs rub together (I didn’t know the word for chafe so I briskly rubbed my hands together in illustration…She knew exactly what I was talking about!) They were cotton and spandex and very comfortable, but the colors are limited and the legs tend to roll up if you wear them under slacks. I’ve also found the shorter legs tend to ride up which results in me having to pull them back down. It’s hard to do that discretely, hahaha. This style made with nylon and spandex gives me better results.
During the summer I prefer skorts to shorts for my casual wear. These panties are great to wear underneath when the legs of the skort tend to ride up. I don’t even care when they show because they’re pretty, especially ones like these with lace. There’s no reason to let a little chub rub prevent you from wearing your favorite Summer fashions. Products like these will definitely help you feel comfortable.
