Last weekend my sister and I traveled to the Maryland border and hiked parts of the C & O Canal plus visited Antietam Battlefield and Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. It was a wonderful weekend getaway and we were able to meet with old friends for lunch and a pleasant afternoon exploring the towpath along the canal near Hagerstown, Maryland. If you live in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US, I highly recommend this area for a mini vacation. You’ll find places to stay, food to eat and activities to suit every budget; and you’ll be refreshed by the time away from your everyday routine.
