Creatively Crafty Link Party #88

Last Updated on January 3, 2021 by lydiaf1963

It looks like October is going to fly by as quickly as September. Yesterday I sat in front of the TV and watched a movie marathon of 90s actions films. Today I planned to watch Big Bang Theory but apparently Netflix Spain no longer carries the show, can you believe it? They do have Star Trek: Discovery, the latest incarnation so I caught up with the episodes. I didn’t get much knitting done because the story is interesting and the costuming and special effects are amazing! They’re releasing one episode a week after it airs in the US on CBS All Access.

Anyway, since I have so much knitting to do, I’ll probably drop to one blog post plus Creatively Crafty per week until I’m caught up.

I can do basic crochet but I’ve never really given amigurumi a try. This replication of Frida Kahlo by Liz of Howling at the Moon is incredible, right down to her unibrow! Me encanta… Frida Kahlo was a Mexican folk artist and wife of famous muralist Diego Rivera. She was portrayed by Salma Hayek in a biographical movie that shows her to have had an influence on the Mexican art scene. I visited an exhibition of photos taken of her in her home in Mexico and even in black and white you could feel the intensity of her personality. An interesting woman who did things her own way in a country and time when women weren’t taken very seriously.

Welcome to the Creatively Crafty Link Party hosted by the Creative Crafters Blogging Group! You’ve worked hard on your project, and it looks great! Share it with us and get the kudos you deserve! Any and all creative endeavors are welcome…crafts, original writing, recipes, DIY tutorials, you name it!

Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.

-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.

-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.

-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog. Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress. Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?
