Creatively Crafty Link Party #74
Last Updated on July 6, 2017 by lydiaf1963
Welcome to the Creatively Crafty Link Party hosted by the Creative Crafters Blogging Group! You’ve worked hard on your project, and it looks great! Share it with us and get the kudos you deserve! Any and all creative endeavors are welcome…crafts, original writing, recipes, DIY tutorials, you name it!
After the blogathon in June I decided to put more emphasis into monetizing Life Beyond the Kitchen. You may have noticed the new theme. It’s the Lifestyle Pro theme from Genesis. I spent some time this week setting it up. I’m still messing around with the styling a little bit, but I’m really excited about the home page format which allows me to feature categories that might interest my visitors instead of just a list of blog posts.
When I originally started the blog I wanted to do all of the work myself using the Genesis framework. I used to enjoy doing that sort of thing a long time ago. Not anymore. What used to come easily when I did it regularly has become a real chore. It’s easier to buy a child theme and tweak the CSS (or pay someone to do it for you). I’d rather spend my time doing other things.
Let me know what you think about the new look in the comments. Is the font dark enough to easily read? (A pet peeve of mine) Is it obvious where the clickable links are? Can you navigate without trouble?
Here’s this week’s featured post!
Emily from Domestic Deadline worked with her son to makeover his room with a Minecraft theme. In addition to the cute canvases they created there’s plenty of storage for all of the things a tween boy needs. Drop by to see how she made the canvases, they’re really cool.
On to the party!
Do you have anything creative you’d like to share? We’d love to see it. Browsing through the projects is a pleasant part of my week! Thank You for sharing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party, and pin our favorites. With so many bloggers participating that means more exposure for YOU! Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff. Check them out here:
Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!
There are just a few simple rules:
-Link to a specific post, not your home page.
-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.
Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog. Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress. Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?
