Creatively Craft Link Party #114

Tarah’s post on her After Divorce Splurges resonated with me. I well remember how liberating it was to pick a pretty floral print bed set after my divorce. My first husband was very controlling with money and our biweekly bill paying sessions became a source of dread for me because I had to justify my purchases. I recall standing in the linens department, hemming and hawing, until I realized there was no one to tell me not to buy it. That purchase helped me find some confidence. I will not forget it. Maybe you can relate. Tarah has listed several purchases that have helped her recapture some of her joy and move forward, including the pretty little rug shown in the photo.

Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!

There are just a few simple rules:

-Link to a specific post, not your home page.

-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.

-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.

-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.

Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog. Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress. Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?

  2. Thank you for the party, your divorce story really touched my heart…I am so happy you are free of that relationship…

Thank you! If I had met my first husband in my 30s instead of at 19 we might have had a better outcome. Both of us have grown and matured since then and are happy in second marriages.

  3. I just had to say that I could relate to buying a bed cover after divorce. We had a horrible heavy wooden bed and dark red and gold coverings. I bought myself the prettiest, feminine cover (it was a lovely mushroom pink) and I loved it very much. It made me happy whenever I went into my new room.

I’m glad to hear it made you happy!
