I was a Craftsy customer before I became a Craftsy affiliate. I have purchased classes and patterns from their website and while some have been better than others, I’ve always felt I’ve gotten my money’s worth. That’s why I’m excited to share Craftsy’s new subscription service.
It’s called Craftsy Unlimited and it takes their video courses to the next level. You’ll be able to choose from over 1300 video classes in a variety of topics and watch them whenever you want. In addition to the video classes, most of which can also be purchased separately, Craftsy has a few subscriber only goodies available like exclusive classes and series like Patchwork Nation which features quilting artists from all over the country. In addition Craftsy will have special offers on supplies, recipes, patterns and more!
So, I’m sure you’re wondering how much it costs? At the moment, it’s $14.99 a month or $120 a year. If you already purchase a lot of classes you will easily spend the subscription fees. Plus you’ll have access to course materials without having to purchase the actual course. That makes subscribing an easy choice, especially if you can plonk down the annual fee.
There are drawbacks, however. Currently when you buy a course you have lifetime access to it and you can download it to your device. This is convenient for people with spotty or slow internet coverage. With the subscription plan you can watch whenever you like…as long as you have internet service. If you cancel you’ll lose access to both the videos and the class materials unless you purchase them.
If you already own Craftsy classes they will still be available via the Craftsy app or on Craftsy.com. Craftsy Unlimited will have a separate app and website. It shouldn’t be too hard to keep track.
Craftsy regularly offers the bulk of their classes for $14.99 on sale, which is the same as the month by month subscription rate. If you don’t think you’ll be interested in a class a month or any of the exclusive content you might prefer to wait for the sales. Also, if you’re using Craftsy’s platform for access to The Great Courses they’re not included in Craftsy Unlimited.
However, even at the monthly rate, access to the platform is about 50 cents a day. Plus, you may find yourself interested in trying something new. Craftsy Unlimited offers courses in the following topics:
- cake decorating
- food and cooking
- paper crafting
- kids crafts
You’re sure to find something to interest you!
Things to consider when making your decision
- How many classes would I purchase in a year’s time versus how many would I watch if they were already paid for?
- How is my internet service? Is it fast enough to stream video? Does my plan cover the volume of data I’ll require?
- What skills would I like to improve and does Craftsy offer classes that would help me?
Once you know the answers to these questions, follow the link to try Craftsy Unlimited and explore. Sign up for a 7 Day trial and if don’t think it’s for you, cancel it. If you decide to continue and change your mind later on, you can still cancel.
