Creatively Crafty Link Party #262
Hannah of Handmade Weekly shared a fun beginner’s soap making tutorial. I was under the impression that soap making was difficult (and possibly dangerous). However, as seen in Hannah’s post, there are lots of (less dangerous) products for beginning and casual soap makers. Her results are gorgeous! I love all the herbs and flowers in this set.
I don’t need another hobby…I don’t need another hobby…

Lent begins next week. For Christians it’s a time of penitence and prayer leading into Easter. Not every denomination follows it, and there are no set rules, although a “fast” of some sort is the normal observation.
I’ve thought quite a bit about how I want to approach it this year. In the past I’ve literally fasted from meats and/or sugar. Other times I’ve taken up daily bible readings or followed the Daily Office (a set of liturgical prayers and readings.)
This year I’m going to fast from social media for Lent. The exception will be social media associated with my blogs. I can schedule much of that without too much interaction. I’ve been inspired by a friend who takes a yearly break during Lent.
Somehow I think it’s going to be more difficult than I anticipate. It seems like my phone is in my hand most of the day. I reach for it as soon as I get up, idly flip through it when watching TV and read from it before turning off the lights at night. Even when my hands are occupied with knitting or a real book, the phone is nearby.
Yeah, this is a good choice for me. GAH!
Welcome to the Creatively Crafty Link Party hosted by the Creative Crafters Blogging Group! You’ve worked hard on your project, and it looks great! Share it with us and get the kudos you deserve! Any and all creative endeavors are welcome…crafts, original writing, recipes, DIY tutorials, you name it!
On to the party!
Do you have anything creative you’d like to share? We’d love to see it. Browsing through the projects is a pleasant part of my week! Thank You for sharing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party, and pin our favorites. With so many bloggers participating that means more exposure for YOU! Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff. Check them out here:
Thanks for sharing your project with us! Keep an eye out as we’ll be sharing posts on various social media channels during the week. We’re growing and that’s a good thing, although as the party gets larger it will be more difficult for me to visit and comment on every link. So I’m counting on you guys to help out. Please try to find time to visit a link or two yourself and congratulate your fellow crafters on a job well done!
There are just a few simple rules:
-Link to a specific post, not your home page.
-Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
-Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
-Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.
Please do not pin from these thumbnails. If there’s a post you want to pin please click on the link title to visit the source and pin from their blog. Not a blogger? No problem! Anyone with an Instagram or Facebook account can link to a photo of your completed masterpiece or work in progress. Could you do us a favor and share the party on Twitter before linking up?
Enjoy your social media break. Those soaps look amazing!
Thank you, Lisa! It won’t be a total break, so I’ll still be able to “see” my blogging friends on FB and Insta. I’m wondering about venturing into TikTok. Maybe now I’ll have time to explore the possibilities in that direction, lol.
Thank you for reminding me lent is almost here. Since my church isn’t meeting in person, it’s not on my calender yet. GOOD LUCK with your social media break. Too much phone is a problem I see in myself and my children. It reduces my attention span. Kind of glad the blog might still be running. Writing blog posts takes concentration for me, and I feel it’s good for my brain in a way that the phone is otherwise not. Peace!
I agree with you about blogging. I’d like to channel the energy I was expending on social media in that direction. Which is why I’m excluding my blog accounts.
Thank you so much for featuring my soap making blog post! Have a wonderful week.
