Knit Leaves for Your Fall Table {#CCBC}

A new month means a new challenge from the Creative Craft Bloggers Group. This time around it’s Fall Recipes. I have a delicious roasted cauliflower with tahini and lemon side dish that’s served up on a pile of knit leaves.

The knit leaves are quick and easy to work up. The pattern comes from Roving Crafters Blog. You can make the leaves in any size and the pattern gives three common sizes: coaster, dishcloth and placemat. It was a great stash buster for me as I made leaves of different sizes and colors to make a small table mat.
The leaves tend to curl as you’re making them so you’ll want to choose a fiber that can be blocked. I had several colors of wool and wool blends. They were leftovers from other hats that I’ve made ( yellow, green and red). Once the leaves have been finished and blocked it’s just a matter of tacking them together. When I attached mine I did it so I could take the mat apart easily.
I’m thinking I’ll be able to add another couple of leaves after this season’s hat making is over.
If you like cauliflower you’ll love this Lebanese style side dish. The florets are roasted until tender and colorful then tossed in a dressing of tahini and lemon. Some roasted carrots and chopped parsley add some color. It has been a popular recipe at Lydia’s Flexitarian Kitchen where I share plant forward recipes and kitchen tips.
As mentioned, this was a challenge. Here’s what the other members of the group made:

Love these, Lydia! Super-cute and would make great gifts!
